XenoGC Installation

 

Ground yourself properly before beginning the install of your new Gamecube XenoGC mod-chip. First remove any dust from gamecube main board by gently brushing with fine dry brush or with compressed air.
Then use the Isopropyl alcohol swabs to clean main board mod chip contact points. Use Multi Strand (thick) wire for Ground / Earth and Power Rails and single strand wire for all other points.

 

With a gamecube game disc in the console hold down "Start" button on the controller while power up the console to bring up the XenoGC Menu.

XenoGC Mod chip Versions:

 

 

Xeno GC Version:

 

it is impossible to tell the difference
in chip version until you install it in a gamecube
because they look the same on the outside.

Here is what I gather from forums about the versions:

 

    XenoGC Version 1.1 -
         - when you hold start while booting, the
          screen shows BIOS v 1.01, but has NO MENU.

    XenoGC Version 1.5 - XenoGC Version 2.0
          - when you hold start while booting, the
          menu says XenoGC Shell v 1.05, shows the
          contents of the disc, and ALLOWS BOOTING
          MULTI-GAME DISCS.

 

Unfortunately the XenoGC is a simple drive chip, not upgradeable by DVD.
